Crops across parts of northeast South Dakota are progressing well despite pockets of weather-related stress. Dairyland Seeds District Sales Manager Keith Rekow says the season’s early heavy rains left a visible impact in some fields. “We’ve had plenty of rain here and looking pretty good; nice green color too, except those few areas that were yellow and now some turned brown with too much excess water. We’ll get that pollination and see what that grain fill looks like on the tip.” Rekow says early-planted crops have the best yield potential, but later-seeded fields could face quality concerns.
