The Environmental Protection Agency has until the end of the month to respond to 2017 petition filed by the Center for Food Safety and the Pesticide Action Network. The environmental groups are seeking regulatory oversight of pesticide-treated seed. Seed treatment was exempted from regulations as part of the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act. The federal court in San Francisco approved a consent decree between the EPA and the activist groups.
