According to USDA, the all-wheat production total is 1.8 billion bushels. That’s up eight percent from 2017. Spring wheat production is projected at 614 million bushels, up a whopping 48 percent from last year’s drought-reduced crop. Spring wheat yields are forecast at a record 47.6 bushels per acre. Durum wheat production is estimated at 73.4 million bushels, up 34 percent from last year. U.S. durum yields are forecast at just under 40 bushels per acre, up 14 bushels from last year.
