USDA expects a big crop to be harvested this fall. Corn production is forecast at 14.6 billion bushels, down less than one percent from last year. Soybean production is estimated at nearly 4.6 billion bushels, up four percent from 2017. Corn yields are projected to average 178.4 bushels per acre, up nearly two bushels from last year. USDA is forecasting soybean yields at 51.6 bushels per acre, up 2.5 bushels from last year.
