The Minot area received more than 30 inches of snow this past week. Pat Murphy, who farms at Carpio, received about two feet. “It did blow around a fair amount, but it looks like there is a great cover on the fields,” said Murphy. “It was as wet a snow as I’ve seen in a long time; it was like trying to shovel mud.” This weather will push back the planting schedule. “Without this snow, we would have seen guys planting within the next week in this area and now it is going to be at least three weeks before anything gets planted at the earliest.”
