An updated version of the Cattle Price Discovery Act has been introduced in the Senate. The revisions are designed to bring more transparency to the cattle market. One provision would require the packer to report the number of cattle scheduled to be delivered for slaughter each day for the next 14 days. Penalties also increase for packer violations.
