Sugarbeet researchers at North Dakota State University and the University of Minnesota held their cercospora leaf spot field day near Foxhome, Minnesota last week. SES Vanderhave sales and marketing manager Nick Revier says there is a tremendous amount of research taking place at Foxhome. “There is a lot of field that has to be monitored and evaluated. Cercospora is one of the major issues we deal with in sugarbeets and we evaluate many different genetics here.” While this season was drier than usual, Revier says there is still cercospora pressure in the field. “It’s easier to control this year, but there still was an environment for it in the more susceptible plants.”
