Northland Community and Technical College Farm Business Management Instructor Betsy Jensen has a small grains marketing tip. “Get an index card, write the highest price you got at harvest or today’s price with a Sharpie, then, put it on your bulletin board for spring wheat. That will be the bar we set through winter,” says Jensen. “The highest price I received for spring wheat was $9.17 off the combine. I sure hope the rest of my wheat in the grain bin goes for a higher price. I want farmers to set a bar and keep their eyes on the markets. It’s nice to have those reminders sometimes.” Jensen will join the Red River Farm Network during the Big Iron Farm Show on Wednesday, September 15 at the Issues and Events Center.
