Earlier this month, Epitome Energy broke escrow. This was a hurdle that needed to be cleared in bringing a soy processing facility to Crookston, Minnesota. “We were looking at raising enough equity to finish all of the engineering work for the air permit. That was our commitment to funders,” said Dennis Egan, president, Epitome Energy. “We told investors in early June we’ve hit our threshold and things look promising with our equity drive.” Egan hopes to secure the air permit by the end of 2021 and weather pending, construction could begin on the plant in the fall or spring 2022. “We are committed to building the 42 million bushel crush facility in Crookston and we’ll keep pushing forward.”
