U.S. corn futures reached levels Tuesday that have not been seen in nearly eight years. Soybeans came close to a seven-year high. May corn topped $6 per bushel, which is the highest price on the most active futures contract since June of 2013. July soybeans closed up 21 and one-quarter cents at $14.57 and three-quarters. That’s the highest price for the most active soybean contract since June of 2014. Tight supplies and weather issues were factors. Speculative fund-related buying is also a major consideration.
