Leaf River Ag agronomist Mark Hess says crops near Wadena, Minnesota have no big production issues. “We had a little bit of dry dirt at the time, maybe a little bit uneven emergence, but for the most part, it was real good. Farmers were irrigating early and so you know they they kept soils moist.” Hess says other than a few spots that drowned out, the has crop handled the heavy rains. “I think we came out fortunate with getting that much rain in that short span. We didn’t have hail or the strong winds. Now it’s on to weed control.” RRFN’s Crop Watch is sponsored, in part, by AgCountry Farm Credit Services.
