The Senate farm bill is expected to come up for a cloture vote late this afternoon, which would bring the legislation to the floor later this week. As a result, the House-Senate conference committee could begin work after the July 4 recess. Ahead of this week’s Senate vote, a coalition of more than 600 farm organizations, lenders and other companies urged lawmakers to “do no harm” to crop insurance.
