North Dakota farmers fared well in the National Wheat Foundation’s National Wheat Yield Contest. This contest has winners in two primary competitions: winter wheat and spring wheat with subcategories of dryland and irrigated. This year’s dryland spring wheat yield winners include Rick Albrecht from Griggs County, North Dakota with a yield of 120.6 bushels per acre. Slope County, North Dakota farmer Jon Wert, Adams County, North Dakota farmer Jordan Christman and Raymond and Amanda Kopp from Ward County, North Dakota also placed at the top in the contest.
