Climate change would be a priority under a Biden administration. “What we like about the way Biden talks about climate change is in the context of jobs, ways farmers can contribute and diversify their income, potentially. We like the sound of that,” said Rob Larew, president, National Farmers Union. “With all of these things, it’s all about the details. We need a seat at the table as they talk through that. For any of his policy conversations, to get something through Congress will be a huge uplift.” Larew said if a future administration is looking at ways to get farmers out of the red, don’t add red tape. “It’s all a balancing act. Farmers want to be part of the solution, but what this actually means for them is what we’ll be watching.” The Radio Oklahoma Network contributed to this story.
