The economic damage has been done by COVID-19. Global Commodity Analytics and Consulting president Mike Zuzolo does not expect a rapid turnaround once the economy is back up. “When it comes to hogs, the cold storage supplies and food supply chain, all roads lead back to COVID-19. We have to get this virus off our back to make progress in a trend low in the market. Otherwise, there will be days where we go up, followed by days of the market wanting to sell off again. Zuzolo says the first priority needs to be stopping COVID-19. “We hope and pray the testing is rapid, accurate and with the help of summertime weather we can get a foothold on it going into the fall.”
