North Dakota, Minnesota and South Dakota are working together to promote the value of amino acids in soybeans, especially for the foreign customer. North Dakota Soybean Council Chair Joe Morken says it is that amino acid profile that delivers value in livestock rations. “The buyer is still buying on crude protein and that has been the downfall for the northern states, but in reality for anyone with critters, you’re feeding amino acids. If we can slowly work to switch that over so the focus is on the amino acid complex, we’ll be a much bigger player in that market.”
