The National Biodiesel Board met in Washington D.C. asking lawmakers to extend the biodiesel tax credit. Brewster, Minnesota farmer Ron Obermoller says something also needs to be done to address the small refinery waivers. “One of the rulemakers for the EPA talked to us and said they’re working on the 2020 waivers. It keeps rolling along. At some point, the dam is going to break and we’re going to get what we need. They need to let us have the Renewable Fuel Standard back.” Other policy discussions included trade. Obermoller is hopeful to have the U.S. Mexico Canada Agreement and tax extenders approved by the end of 2019.
