For the second year, SES VanderHave regional sales manager Nick Revier is evaluating sugarbeet genetics specifically for early harvest. “So if a grower knows he is going to have to open up his fields first next year, such as middle of August or end of August, he wants to know what variety will be the most profitable one to harvest early. In the past, we never screened genetics until the middle of September.” Samples were pulled Thursday. SES VanderHave will be back out again in mid-August and at the end of the month. The varieties will be evaluated for revenue-per-acre with early harvest.
