Nutrien Agronomist Scott Younggren of Hallock says 99 percent of crops are in the bin, while fertilizer applications and tillage have also progressed well. Sugarbeet yields varied widely following a windy spring that forced some farmers to replant as much as 50 percent of their acres. “There was 15 to 20 tons in certain fields, and there was 30 to 35 a couple miles away,” Younggren said. Despite the variability, Younggren says farmers are generally pleased with the harvest and the extended fall work window. “We had a good fall of spreading fertilizer, and lots of work was done that way too for spring’s work.”
