North Dakota farmers have more conservation options under USDA’s Regenerative Pilot Program. The Natural Resources Conservation Service has added ten eligible practices, including windbreaks, field borders, grassed waterways and salinity management. North Dakota NRCS State Conservationist Dan Hovland says the changes give producers more flexibility to address local soil and water concerns. USDA has also increased nationwide program funding to $1 billion for fiscal year 2027. Farmers can combine multiple conservation practices into one application. North Dakota producers seeking funding during the current fiscal year should apply through their local NRCS office by November 13.
