The Rolla, North Dakota, FFA Chapter is a Top 10 Model of Excellence finalist at the National FFA Convention. FFA advisor William Fritz said the chapter’s Program of Activities is built around 15 National FFA standards. At the beginning of the school year, members are divided into committees based on their interests, personalities and strengths. “I turn it over to them,” Fritz said. “The 15 committees then take and plan an activity that matches that standard.” Fritz said his role is largely to help students refine their ideas and determine what is achievable. The Model of Excellence recognition is part of FFA’s National Chapter Award program.
