Failure can provide some of life’s most important lessons. That was the message professional speaker Scott McKain shared with members attending the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis. McKain served as an Indiana FFA state president and national officer. His public speaking experiences through FFA helped launch his professional career, even though he never achieved his goal of winning Indiana’s state FFA public speaking contest. McKain encouraged young people—and adults—to stay grounded in their principles when facing challenges. “All of us as adults need to get back to the importance of standing for something and to believe in our principles and to be willing to take action so those principles take effect.”
