President Donald Trump has announced new assistance to help farmers offset rising diesel costs. “I’m also pleased to announce that the Department of Agriculture will be launching a new Harvest Fuel Relief Program, providing our farmers with $8 billion s in support to offset diesel costs during this harvest season.” The assistance will come through the Commodity Credit Corporation and will be distributed as one-time payments through the Farm Service Agency. Payments will be calculated using planted acreage, production costs, yields, and commodity prices. Speaking at a campaign rally in Kansas, Trump offered his conditional support for year-round E15. “With (incumbant Republican) Roger Marshall in the Senate, we will make year-round E15 permanent, but if (Democratic candidate) Adam Hamilton is in, I’m not doing it.”
