The Red River Valley & Western Railroad received a $23.6 million grant from the Federal Railroad Administration through its Consolidated Rail Infrastructure and Safety Improvements Program. The money will support the replacement of 26 miles of rail and the construction of a new siding near Wahpeton. The FRA also awarded $690,825 to Bottineau County to support rail safety improvements.
