The Russell Group has been acquired by FGS Global. Randy Russell, who is president and chief executive officer of The Russell Group, will remain with the business for three years. The well-known farm lobbying company’s team and leadership will also remain. The Russell Group was founded in 1985 by former Agriculture Secretary Dick Lyng and former USDA Assistant Secretary for Economics Bill Lesher. Under the leadership of Randy Russell, the firm’s name was changed to The Russell Group in 2012. Russell served as the chief of staff for former Agriculture Secretary John Block and worked for former Minnesota Senator Rudy Boschwitz on the Senate Agriculture Committee staff.
