Agriculture has plenty of voices, but North Dakota Corn Growers Association Executive Director Brenda Elmer says those voices can accomplish more when they are singing from the same song sheet. Speaking at the North Dakota Bankers Association Ag Credit Conference, Elmer pointed to U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service wetland easements as an example. “Each commodity group from North Dakota had been going to D.C. and kind of spinning our wheels, meeting with somebody different each time and never really comparing notes with each other,” Elmer said. That has changed. Elmer says a core group now compares notes and builds on each meeting. “We’re making some huge gains because of it.”
