Maribeth and Jake Joraanstad, Fargo, have been honored nationally as Angels in Adoption. North Dakota Senator Kevin Cramer nominated the couple for the honor after the family’s six-year international adoption journey. After deciding to adopt Mitialove and Mirlanda from Haiti, escalating violence closed the international airport and prevented the girls from leaving the country in the traditional way. With few options, the Joraanstad family turned to Grey Bull Rescue, a nonprofit specializing in evacuating Americans from some of the world’s most dangerous situations. Jake Joraanstad is the CEO and co-founder of Bushel.
