Sugarbeet yield prospects remain highly variable south of Grand Forks. Thompson, North Dakota-area farmer Jason Nelson said hot, dry weather in July took some potential out of the crop. “It all depends where that cloud dropped the rain around us.” Nelson said areas farther south have faced some particularly difficult conditions. “It’s just truly been been a mixed bag of quality and tons.”
