Vice President JD Vance highlighted agricultural trade and farm policy during a campaign stop in Iowa over the weekend. Vance credited the Trump administration with opening additional markets for U.S. agriculture. “Corn exports are up by 35 percent. Markets that were closed to our beef and dairy for decades are taking Iowa beef and dairy today, and China has committed to buying $17 billion from our farmers just this year.” Vance also pointed to changes in the farm safety net, crop insurance and right-to-repair policy, while saying the administration has delivered $40 billion in direct assistance to farmers nationwide.
