Today’s challenge is not only the price farmers receive for grain, but the cost of putting a crop in the ground. During RRFN’s market outlook forum Tuesday, Ag Bull Trading President Tommy Grisafi said the 2027 crop could be one of the most expensive farmers have ever planted. “The more we go up, the more your risk management needs to be dialed in,” said Grisaifi, “If we get an explosive up, which will really make you bullish, and then we go down, you could be in a financial pickle like you’ve never seen one year from now.” Grisafi said history shows grain bull markets can be short-lived, while high input costs continue to pressure farm margins.
