Farmland values remain resilient despite tighter margins in agriculture. Kyle Nelson with Farmers National Company believes the next generation of farmers is helping support farmland demand in parts of the region. “Some areas have a lot of what I call next generation farmers coming up. The market is different than some other areas where there’s a lack of those.” Younger buyers also have a different perspective on today’s farm economy. “Next generation farmers, they’re looking to buy land and they don’t remember the 1980s, so the current climate doesn’t seem to phase them.” Nelson says supply and demand remain one of the biggest factors supporting farmland values. Farmers National Company hosted forums on Tuesday and Wednesday in the RRFN Building at Big Iron.
