Pat Maher is harvesting his pinto beans and describes the crop as fair. “The lower spots are a little thinner, but for the most part they seem to be okay.” Maher, who farms at Cavalier, North Dakota, is trying to finish the pintos before moving onto the next crop. “We go from one to the other; we finished the grain, now we’re in pinto beans, sugarbeets and then it’ll be the soybeans most likely after that.”
