Guatemala is opening a new market for U.S. ethanol with the nationwide rollout of E10 gasoline. The program officially began August 22, requiring regular gasoline to contain 10 percent ethanol. Guatemala imported 1.7 million gallons of U.S. ethanol in July, according to Renewable Fuels Association data. The E10 rollout comes as Guatemala looks to increase renewable fuel use and diversify its fuel supply.
