A timely rain made a significant difference for crops in the Bremen/New Rockford, North Dakota area. Donny Almaras hosted the first stop on Tuesday of the Red River Farm Network Crop Tour, presented by Pioneer. “We’ve been very fortunate, especially right in this area,” Almers said. “We got 1.3 inches of rain on July 30,” said Almaras. “The unfortunate part, it was in a very small area. A lot of the area did not receive that.” Regarding maturity, Almaras said there will be enough heat to finish the corn crop. Waterhemp is another concern, and he encourages farmers to scout both corn and soybean fields before the weed spreads further.
