The Surface Transportation Board has reopened its review of the proposed merger between the Union Pacific and Norfolk Southern railroads. The review process was suspended earlier this year when the STB asked for additional information from both railroad companies. The STB will take input from stakeholders through mid-November and a decision on the merger is expected in 2027.
