North Dakota Representative Julie Fedorchak says the Trump administration is working to open more markets for U.S. agriculture. Fedorchak says expanding soybean markets is especially important. “We don’t want to be dependent only on China to sell our soybeans,” Fedorchak said. “They’re really being strategic and targeted and laser-focused on opening more markets for American agriculture.” Fedorchak also supports a Section 301 investigation into foreign sugar trade practices. She says the tariff protecting U.S. sugar producers has not been adjusted in 26 years. “It’s too low, we have to have a fair playing field.” Fedorchak hosted USTR’s Julie Callahan in Grand Forks Wednesday.
