The former state legislator who carried the bill creating the Minnesota Agricultural Water Quality Certification Program wants the law repealed. Former State Representative Jean Wagenius wrote an editorial in the Minnesota Star Tribune, saying the water quality certification program has not lived up to its promise to reduce water pollution in the state. Wagenius claims crop protection products are overused and a voluntary program for farmers to reduce farm chemical usage isn’t working.
