The U.S. Department of Energy is moving to cancel a proposed electric transmission corridor that would run primarily through South Dakota and portions of North Dakota and Nebraska. Deputy Undersecretary Mike Kopp announced the proposed cancellation of three National Interest Electric Transmission Corridors, including the Tribal Energy Access Corridor. South Dakota Farm Bureau President Scott VanderWal said the organization supports a reliable electric grid, but projects must also respect private property rights and state and local decision-making.
