USDA has extended the signup deadline for the Supplemental Disaster Relief Program to September 30. There is also additional flexibility for the documentation of these losses. This is for quality losses due to natural disasters in 2023 and 2024. This region faced drought in 2023 and widespread fire damage was seen in ’24. Previously, USDA moved the cutoff date from April 30th to August 12th. The additional extension points to the administrative headaches in documenting these shallow losses.
