With significant investments in risk management and conservation programs, the Congressional Budget Office projects the Commodity Credit Corporation will deplete its annual $30 billion borrowing authority within the next ten years. An analysis from the American Farm Bureau found that threatens USDA’s ability to respond to emergencies, such as this year’s bridge assistance. The $30 billion cap has not been adjusted in nearly 40 years.
