Dave Vipond, Mahnomen, was part of Tuesday’s roundtable discussion with Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins. To improve USDA reports, Vipond wants better data acquisition and the ability to get that information back out to farmers in a meaningful way. “The most interesting thing I heard was that the Elon Musk DOGE programmers stayed and are working for her to overhaul a system that was antiquated and needed to be fixed.” Vipond said it is important to have the Minnesota Corn Growers Association at the table in these high-level discussions, “Membership matters; we’re able to go to the highest levels in Washington and they want to hear from us.”
