NDSU Extension Sugarbeet Pathologist Eric Branch is cautiously optimistic about the beet crop. “We, of course, had some replanting, so some beets are behind because of that, but we’ll have to see what we get for moisture throughout August.” The pre-pile harvest begins later this week. With disease pressure still manageable, attention shifts to this year’s harvest potential. “I think there’s pretty good potential.”
