Senate leaders have reached a bipartisan agreement on a continuing resolution that would fund the federal government through December 11 and avoid a shutdown. Senate leaders hope to pass the measure before leaving for the August recess, after which it will also need House approval. The legislation includes funding adjustments for SNAP, WIC, disaster relief and national security programs.
