Recent rainfall brought much needed moisture to eastern North Dakota, but Emerado farmer Shane Sand says it came too late for many crops. Wheat yields have been disappointing, although protein levels have been excellent. “We got an inch of rain this morning, which is super, super great to have, but it’s about four weeks too late.” Sand says crop conditions vary widely across the region depending on rainfall. “If you were in the right cloud, you might do all right. If you didn’t have a cloud, you’re not going to do so well.”
