Rainfall totals varied dramatically across southeast North Dakota with Thursday rains. Oakes farmer Scott German said some farms received nearly three inches while others were left dry. “We had a nice little rain around our farm, so I’m very thankful for that.” Crops continue to look surprisingly good despite the heat. “We’ve got corn already going into the blister stage; the maturity of the crop is sure further along than what it has been here the last couple of years.”
