Much-needed moisture reached parts of northeast South Dakota late Thursday, but some farmers got more than they bargained for. Peever farmer Louis Nigg said rainfall totals ranged from six to 11 inches within a ten-mile radius. “We went from praying for rain to wanting sunshine and heat again.” For the season, Nigg said disease and insect pressure remains low.
