Rail rate adjustments will take effect in August. According to the USDA Grain Transportation Report, BNSF will raise the shuttle tariff rate by $150 per car for nearly all locations in Minnesota and North Dakota going to the Pacific Northwest export terminals. South Dakota rates will be adjusted by $50 per car. BNSF will rase the rate by $250 per car for trains heading to the U.S.-Mexico border and Texas Gulf region from 19 North Dakota locations. Another ten North Dakota sites will see a $200 per car rate increase. Canadian Pacific Kansas City Railroad will raise rates by $225 per car across most of the country.
