A caravan of pickups traveled the back roads in North Dakota’s Nelson and Griggs counties Tuesday for the Plant Power Agriculture Crop Tour. The event highlighted field trials on everything from seed treatments to nitrogen efficiency. “When we became dealers for Stoller products back in 2017, I learned that the customers who are inclined to use these products are the innovators and the early adopters; it’s people who are willing to understand the science and do things a little differently than what is traditionally done,” said Fred Lukens of Plant Power Agriculture. “We do a lot of testing ourselves on our farm; you’ve always got to be looking for new ideas.” Lukens cited comments made by Stoller Group founder Jerry Stoller, who passed away in 2019. “He said, I’ve spent my whole life studying this stuff and I know about five percent of what there is to know. Where does that put the rest of us? We’ve got a lot to learn.”
