The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency has released its draft list of impaired waters for 2026. This list adds nearly 50 bodies of water with impairments. More than one-third of that list includes lakes, streams and rivers impaired due to Minnesota’s sulfate wild rice standard. The MPCA is taking public comment on this list until July 22.
