During the groundbreaking event for Agristo in Grand Forks, Northland Potato Growers Association Executive Director Gary Shields used one word to describe the occasion—family. “The potato growers are a family. There are three generations of families here, and it’s just awesome for our potato industry.” Shields emphasized the shared culture between the local farming community and the Belgium-based company. “Agriculture is our past, present, and future.”
